OUR PURPOSE

To usher in the presence of God, through dance, thereby allowing people to be ministered and made free to worship the Lord. We are to use expressive worship dance as a way to convey our love for the Lord. Romans 12:1 tells us that we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God. This is our reasonable service of worship.

DANCER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ages: 6 - 18 years of age
  • Please be prompt to rehearsals and events and sign in on the attendance log.
  • Respect your fellow dancers, help and assist them as needed with love and patience; especially new team members within the dance ministry.
  • Respect worship garments and instruments.
  • Return promptly all items used.
  • Report any damages or need for cleaning to leadership

VALUES:

  • True heartfelt worshiping of God.
  • Serve the Lord through the proper, anointed and graceful movement.
  • Be filled with the confidence to dance to the Lord with love and praise.
  • Praying for God's will to be done in you.
  • Modeling your life after Jesus Christ.

PARENT/GUARDIAN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete the required forms:
  • Notify leaders promptly about any changes to information or medical conditions (allergies, sprains, etc...)
  • Notify leaders when scheduling conflicts arise.
  • Inform coordinator/choreographer of upcoming missed practice and request video recordings. NOTE: must be requested in advance as all practices are not recorded.

SCHEDULING CONFLICT

  • If dancer misses practice; dancers must notify leaders to receive dance material for next event.
  • Dancers responsibility to learn missed material, or they will not participate in next event.
  • Practice at home as required.
  • Dancers unable to attend multiple rehearsals or are not practicing at home will be asked to sit out of upcoming dance presentations, not as punishment, but out of respect for everyone's time and effort involved.

LEADERSHIP TEAM:

  1. Teach according to Biblical principals of worship dance
  2. Be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
  3. Only allow worship songs to be danced
  4. Keep communication lines open with dancers, parents, team members, and Church leadership.

RULES & POLICIES

  • Each year, dancers will be required re-register and complete new Emergency Contact forms and acknowledgment of compliance of team rules and regulations. The dance period is from August to July. A new commitment must be signed by parent and child.
  • The classes are free.
  • Dancers will be required to sign in for practice sessions.
  • On practice Sundays, dancers are required to attend church prior to practice.
  • Eating is not allowed in the dance area.
  • Please utilize restrooms before practices.
  • Water is provided.
  • If purchasing your own materials is desired. Please shop through Dance Wear Solutions or Amazon.
  • No in and out of classes unless necessary
  • Limit talking and socializing.
  • Be patient and respectful during practices to others when instructions are given.
  • Come to practice prepared and ready to exercise. Bring notebooks to class to receive homework assignments.
